The Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education,, produced the Entrepreneurship Education Content Standards, Please visit the toolkit for much of what we discussed in terms of why youth entrepreneurship, why now.

Also on the Consortium’s website, you can find sample youth entrepreneurship programs in WI,

The Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy Group, YES Group, is a national coalition striving to promote entrepreneurship in the schools. YES Group has released a publication that makes the case for entrepreneurship to close the achievement gap, prevent drop-outs, build a new generation of leaders and many other important goals for our youth. Advancing Entrepreneurship Education

The YES Group also provides guidance to policymakers about how they can support youth entrepreneurship. You received a hard copy of this Policymaker Action Guide, but here is an electronic version

For more information about YES Group, contact Julie Kantor,

We didn’t discuss this, but I thought you might be interested to see the impact of youth entrepreneurship through youths’ stories. Clarence Page, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the Chicago Tribune and essayist of THESE KIDS MEAN BUSINES$, has created a PBS documentary showing the transformative power of entrepreneurship education in the lives of youth (including one from Milwaukee),

And another excellent PBS documentary is TEACHING ENTREPRENEURSHIP,
